So who's planning on attending Bumbershoot this year and blogging about it?
What method's are you using?
I always see so many bands at Bumbershoot that 2 years later I've mostly forgotten what I saw. For the last several years I told myself I would try to take some notes and then blog about Bumbershoot. Fat chance, the best shows had a bit of a mosh pit going which rules out taking notes, and if it's a boring sucky show you don't hang around to write about it, you leave to see if the other band you read about playing the mural amphitheater might be better...
So what I'm trying this year is audio blogging by cell phone. I'll call in and comment about what I've just seen, what I'm about to see, what I plan on seeing, whatever comes to mind. Describe each show while it's fresh, who I saw and what I liked.
At best I may see 20% of the acts, probably more like 15%, so reading or listening to what others say about most of the performances is as close as I'll get to actually experiencing them. Also, since many of the "Spectacle" acts as Bumbershoot calls them perform multiple times, I hope to be able to check out what others thought of performances the first day to help figure out what to see the second and third days.
I've been playing with blogging on http://virtualsound.vox.com/
, I think using livejournal and ftp or perhaps sftp may be a good way to go for sound. Current Mood: cheerful

Hi there! I've been looking for a copy of the program of 2007 bumbershoot - heck, even just a scan. My photo was published in it and I would love to get a copy of it for my resume. If you know of where I can find one, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Pursuant to this post about cameras at Bumbershoot
, I sent an e-mail to One Reel to find out what the deal is, and here's the response I got:This is a new policy for Bumbershoot beginning this year.
Frankly, I think that sucks.

Replacing Devo and Ani DiFranco, Elvis Costello and Iggy Pop have been added to headline the mainstage Sunday and Monday, respectively.
|Thursday, August 4th, 2005|
I was reading the website and it said cameras weren't allowed and I'm a little confused.
I went to Bumbershoot two years ago with a camera and I had no problems. It was a large film SLR, too, so I know it wasn't because of my mad skills as a ninja photographer. I wanted it primarily to take pictures of the crowds, the whole feel, and the like and I did.
If I brought a camera, an equally large digital SLR, would I get in trouble or is it a superficial rule? Moreover, is it a new rule? I never got bothered two years ago for having one.
